WWF-România is launching Bearflix today, the first video streaming service in Romania that helps raising donations for the Rehabilitation Centre of Orphan Bears in Romania. The public and supporters of the project will be able to watch episodes of film shootings from the Bear Sanctuary, which presents the daily life of the bear cubs under the rehabilitation programme.
Bearflix is streaming not only success stories, but also essential information about the importance, biology and the behaviour of bears.
In the heart of Hășmaș Mountains, near the Olt River’s headwaters and away from any inhabited area there is Bear Again, a centre for the orphan bears’ rehabilitation, the only unit of this kind in Europe. Bear Again has accommodated over 150 bears in 16 years, which have been looked after and released into the wild later on.
Bear Again is functional only based on donations, and that’s why WWF-Romania is giving them a helping hand now with an atypical fund raising campaign under the guise of a video content platform working like any other streaming service.
So, the three subscriptions for members on Bearflix are in fact monthly donations for the bear sanctuary.
Divided into 4 categories – Bearflix Originals, Binge-Worthy, Comedy Cub and Children & Family, Bearflix has video content exclusively from the Bear Again Centre.
The films presents the two-year rehabilitation programmes, how the orphan bear cubs arrive there, how they are fed and what are their challenges till they return into the woods.
“When I want to climb, I climb”, “Eat, play, eat again”, „Fight Cub” and „It’s raining cats and dogs” are just some of the tens of movies currently running on Bearflix.
