The last stage of Romania’s Cycling Tours is kicking off in Bucharest tomorrow, September 15, from 12:00hrs. The participants will have to cover 102 km on the following route: Victoriei Square-Arch of Triumph Square-Piata Presei Libere Square and back. The tour is one of the most prestigious cycling race in Southeastern Europe.
A festival dedicated to cycling is also due in Kiseleff area from 08:00hrs to 16:00hrs, BIKESHOW, dedicated to children (aged from 8 to 15) and bike enthusiasts. The event comprises workshops on bike, sprint and speed races, acrobatics performed by Gabi Opran, triple record-man awarded by the Guinness World Records and national champion on mountain bike trial and outdoor cycling.
Romania’s Cycling Tour has started in Cluj-Napoca on September 11 and reached Piatra Arsa peak on TransBucegi, at 1,950 metres, which is a national first for such a competition.
100 cyclists from 12 countries, and 5 national teams have joined the competition and covered almost 700km: Cluj-Napoca-TransBucegi-Sighisoara-Brasov-Focsani-Buzau-Targoviste-Ploiesti-Bucharest.
