Romanian tennis player Marius Copil defeated on Tuesday in straight sets 6-2 6-2 7-5 Pablo Andujar from Spain and has qualified to the second round of the first grand slam of the year, the Australian Open, Digi24 reports. Copil, seeded 194, registered a surprise win over 43rd seeded Andujar in a match that lasted less than two hours. The qualification to the second round is Copil’s best performance in his entire career. He is to receive 45 ATP points and 60,000 Australian dollars. In the second round Marius Copil is to face 4th seeded Stanislas Wawrinka, last year’s winner of the Australian Open.
