Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games: Andeeea Dragoman wins bronze medal in the table tennis singles event

Romanian table tennis player, Andreea Dragoman, has won the bronze medal in the singles event on Wednesday, at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Dragoman lost the match in the semi-finals against Miu Hirano (Japan) 0-4, but defeated Archana Girish Kamath (India) 4-1 (8-11, 13-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-9) to win the bronze medal.

Filip Jianu was defeated in the quarter-finals of the tennis competition by 6th seeded Adrian Andreev (Bulgaria) 6-2, 6-4.

In artistic gymnastics, Ana Maria Puiu made it to the final of the beam event and the the all-round final.

Andreea Dragoman thus brings the seventh medal for the Romanian delegation in Buenos Aires. Romania is 7th in the standings by medals with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.

The Youth Olympic team of Romania includes 34 athletes, 21 in the women’s competitions and 13 in the men’s competitions, competing in 14 sport disciplines.
