Carpathia Bike Tour Returns on May 31, 2025 – Register Now!

Carpathia Bike Tour, an event organized by Conservation Carpathia Foundation and COBOR Biodiversity Farm, has officially opened registrations for its 4th edition, set to take place on May 31, 2025. This year’s event features an extended 90-kilometer route with a new destination: the Transylvanian village of Dăișoara. The route offers a unique opportunity to explore the Transylvanian Highlands by bike, blending physical activity with the discovery of the region’s cultural, historical, and natural heritage.

2025 Route Overview

The tour starts at Rupea Fortress and passes through the picturesque villages of Homorod, Ungra, Dăișoara, Crihalma, Ticușu Nou, and Ticușu Vechi, with a lunch stop at COBOR Biodiversity Farm. Here, cyclists will get to experience an eco-friendly business that supports local communities.

Along the way, participants will have the chance to visit:

Dăișoara’s museum and library
Cobor’s fortified church
Jibert’s church
Viscri’s UNESCO-listed fortified church

The tour will conclude at Rupea Fortress, where participants will enjoy a special artistic moment. Two hydration stations will be available along the route.

Carpathia Bike Tour 2025: A Challenging Route for Experienced Cyclists

With a medium to advanced difficulty level, the 90-kilometer route has a 700-meter elevation gain—comparable to a road cycling trip from Brașov to Poiana Brașov. The event is recommended for cyclists with previous long-distance experience.

Recommended bikes: MTB, cross-country, or trekking
Mandatory safety gear for public roads
Not a race! Participants are encouraged to ride at a comfortable pace while respecting traffic regulations.

A Ride for Nature & Conservation

“Carpathia Bike Tour is more than just a cycling event—it’s an opportunity to explore a unique biodiversity hotspot and raise awareness about the importance of protecting these areas. The spectacular landscapes and ecosystems of the Făgăraș Mountains need conservation, and the creation of the Făgăraș Mountains Natural Park is a crucial step in this direction. Through this event, we want to share our passion for nature and local culture while highlighting the urgency of preserving this natural heritage. Carpathia Bike Tour is both an invitation to cycle through breathtaking landscapes and a call to support conservation efforts for future generations,” said Victoria Donos, Communications & Community Director, Conservation Carpathia Foundation.
