David Popovici Leads in 200m Freestyle Semifinals at Paris Olympics

Romanian swimming champion David Popovici qualified for the semi-finals in the 200 meters free with the best score. The Romanian swimmer achieved a time of 1:45:65, being the first to complete the 200-meter freestyle at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The Romanian athlete was followed on the podium by the Belgian Lucas Henveaux and the South Korean Sunwoo Hwang, according to Digisport.ro. The quoted source shows that David Popovici also had the best time overall, from all four series.

David Popovici won the gold medal in the 200-meter freestyle at the European Swimming Championships in Belgrade and thus retained his title as European champion, according to Digisport.
