The fifth round of the inaugural season of eSuperliga, the official esports league affiliated with Romania’s Superliga football competition, will take place on Friday, January 17, at the ParkLake Shopping Center in Bucharest, starting at 15:00 PM.
The best EA SPORTS FC™ players in Romania, representing the 16 football clubs in the Superliga, will compete in an exciting round packed with thrilling matches, including FC Farul Constanța vs. Petrolul Ploiești and FC Rapid 1923 vs. UTA Arad. The competition promises an electrifying spectacle for both video game and football fans, set in a specially designed esports arena at the ParkLake Shopping Center.

eSuperliga matches will be streamed live on Andu’s channel and the official YouTube channel. With a total prize pool of €130,000 and 15 rounds scheduled across the country, the inaugural eSuperliga season will culminate in spring 2025, when the winning team will be crowned champions.
Over the weekend, alongside eSuperliga, Round 22 of Romania’s Superliga football competition will feature highlights such as the derby between Universitatea Craiova and Dinamo București on January 19 and the FCSB vs. AFC Hermannstadt match on January 17, scheduled after the EA FC 25 matches from eSuperliga. FCSB, Universitatea Craiova, and Dinamo București are battling for playoff qualification.
The standings in the two competitions, eSuperliga and Superliga, are markedly different. For example, in eSuperliga, FC Rapid 1923 leads the standings with four wins in four matches, totaling 12 points, while in the Superliga, they sit in 8th place with 29 points after 21 rounds. Meanwhile, Universitatea Cluj tops the Superliga standings but ranks 13th in the virtual championship.
