The match between the women’s teams of Romania and Belgium, counting for the first round of the Fed Cup World Group II, will be played in Bucharest during February11-12, the Romanian Tennis Federation (FRT) has announced on its official website.
FRT has proposed the match to take place at the Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest. “This was our proposal and we are confident that it will be accepted” said Razvan Itu, FRT Vice-president.
“We have chosen Bucharest as we promised, and we want the Romanian team to play in as many cities, to be followed by as many fans. I am glad we found understanding and support from local authorities for this match to be held in Bucharest, and we want to thank them in this way,” Itu said.
The representatives of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) will arrive in Romania next week and are expected to give the approval for the Polyvalent Hall to host the match.
