Romanian tennis player Sorana Cîrstea will face Carol Zhao in the first singles match between the teams of Romania and Canada counting for the Fed Cup, World Cup II, on Saturday at 13.00h in the Polyvalent Hall of Cluj-Napoca. The draw was made on Friday by the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc.
Cîrstea (27, 38th WTA) will face Zhao (22, 138th WTA) for the first time.
The second singles match will be played between Irina Begu (27, 37th WTA) and the Canadian of Romanian origin, Bianca Andreescu (17, 173rd WTA).
On Sunday, at 12.00h: Begu vs. Zhao, followed by Cîrstea vs, Andreescu. In the doubles match Ana Bogdan/Raluca Olaru vs. Katherina Sebov/Gabriela Dabrowski, but, depending on the result, changes can be made in the pairs.
Out of the Romanian players, only Begu played previously against Zhao, winning 6-4, 6-4 in the 2013 qualifying rounds at Toronto.
