Football: Gheorghe Hagi announces that Ianis Hagi will be transferred abroad this summer

Football legend Gheorghe Hagi, manager and coach of FC Viitorul Constanta team, has announced that his son, Ianis Hagi, will be transferred this summer. Hagi said the deal is solved 99.9%.

Hagi refused to reveal the team interested in the transfer, saying he will make it public after the final tournament of the U-21 European Championship, ziare.com reports.

“99.9% we don’t count on Ianis for the next season. There are huge chances he will leave. He needs to reach another level, he needs a better team,” Hagi said.

Lately, FC Sevilla, Arsenal London, Spartak Moscow, Genk, Standard Liege and Galatasaray have showed interest in transferring Ianis Hagi. Beside the money for transfer, Hagi wants guarantees that Ianis will play and will not face the same situation as at Fiorentina, where he sat on the bench most of the time.

Ianis Hagi is playing at the U-21 European Championship in Italy. He scored one goal in the match won by Romania 4-1 against Croatia on Tuesday. In the other match in the group, France defeated England 2-1.

The next match for Romania is against England on Friday, at 19.30h Bucharest time.

In the Group C standings Romania leads with 3 points (+3 goal difference), followed by France 3 points (+1), England and Croatia with 0 points.

The group winners and the team on the second position with the best achievements qualify to the semi-finals.
