The Disciplinary Committee of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has decided that Rapid Bucharest football club does not meet the criteria to play in Liga 1.
Therefore, Rapid is to be excluded from the championship again, but the ruling on Thursday is not final and can be appealed, ziare.com reports.
According to DolceSport station, the Disciplinary Committee has decided that a club in bankruptcy procedures, as is Rapid at the moment, can not apply to play in Liga 1.
Under these circumstances, Rapid’s place in Liga 1 will be taken over by ACS Poli Timisoara, a team relegated by the end of the last season.
Rapid owners seem determined to play all their cards, so it is most probable that they will appeal against the decision on Thursday.
As it is hard to believe that the members of the Appeal Committee can analyse the case in one day and, on the other hand, the match in the second leg between Dinamo Bucharest and Rapid or Timisoara is scheduled this weekend, most certainly the match will be postponed.
