The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, 4th WTA, has qualified to the final of the WTA tournament in Rome, with total prizes of USD 2,775,745 after defeating the Dutch player Kiki Bertens 7-5, 6-1.
Halep will play her second consecutive final after winning the title in Madrid last week.
Simona Halep (25), number six at Foro Italico, won in an hour and 17 minutes in front of the Dutch player, 20th WTA.
The Romanian player had very good percentages, 68% for the first service and 62% for the second service, did not make a double mistake and had 17 winners, committing only 9 unforced errors. Bertens had 2 aces, 2 double mistakes, managed 20 winners, but made 31 unforced errors.
Bertens had defeated Monica Niculescu in the first round of Rome 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Simona, who reached ten consecutive victories (Madrid and Rome), secured a cheque for EUR 230,565 and 585 points WTA, and in the final she will face the winner of the match between Garbine Muguruza Blanco (Spain, 7th WTA) and Elina Svitolina (Ukraine, 11th WTA).
Halep will play in Rome her 24th final in career, having so far won 15 titles.
