Romanian judoka Alexandra Pop (48 kg) has won the second place at the Grand Prix in Tunis last weekend, the Romanian Judo Federation informs.
In the last sixteen round Pop defeated Kimberley Renicks (UK), in the quarter-finals she defeated Frenchwoman Mallaurie Mercadier and in the semi-finals she won the fight against Japanese judoka Mei Tanaka, but she lost the final against Ukrainian Daria Bilodid, the European champion titleholder.
At the same contest, Vladuţ Simionescu, the +100 kg category, was fifth after being defeated in the final for the third place by Ruslan Shakhbazov (Russia).
