Larisa Iordache takes all-around silver at World Gymnastics Championships

Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache won all-around silver at the World Gymnastics Championships in Nanning, China with a score of 59.765. This is the first medal for Romania at an all-around final in 7 seven years. Iordache will also compete for the floor and bars on Sunday.

The American Simone Biles was crowned women’s all-around champion with a score of 60.231 across the four pieces of apparatus – the floor, vault, beam and bars, thus claiming the world title ahead of Larisa Iordache. The Olympic team gold medallist Kyla Ross of the United States took bronze with 58.232. The British hopefuls Claudia Fragapane and Ruby Harrold finished 10th and 11th respectively.
