Romania 3 Chile 2 in friendly match in Cluj napoca

Romania football national team defeated Chile 3-2 in Tuesday in a friendly match played in Cluj Napoca.

Scorers: B. Stancu 31st min., N. Stanciu 60th min., Băluţă 83rd min and Vargas 8th min., Valencia 18th min.

Coach Christoph Daum made four changes against the team that played in Poland on Saturday (1-3) in the World Cup qualifiers.

The start of the match was dominated by the guest team, which scored two goals in the 8th and 18th minutes. Chile remained in ten players, as Medel hit Andone in the 33rd minute, after a tackling.

Romania scored the first goal in the 31st minute, when Bogdan Stancu hit the post from a free kick outside the 16 meter box.

Nicusor Stanciu equalised in the 60th minute by a shot from 20 metres which hit the post and then the target.

Ivan attacked alone in the 78th minute and was blocked by Roco.

Baluta scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute, following a shot by Nicusor Stanciu from 30 metres blocked by the goalkeeper. It was Baluta’s debute to the national team.

It was also Romania’s first victory on Cluj Arena.

Romania’s next match is scheduled on September 1 in Bucharest, against Armenia, match counting for the World Cup qualifiers. Chile will play as of Saturday in the Confederations Cup in Russia, is to meet Cameroon, Germany and Australia.
