Romania Fed Cup team has arrived in Montreal, for the match against Canada to be held this weekend for the qualification to the World Group, the Romanian Tennis Federation informs. Romanian players were to have the first training session on Tuesday at Maurice Richard arena.
For Romania will play Irina-Camelia Begu, 33rd WTA, Alexandra Dulgheru, 69th WTA, Andreea Mitu, 104th WTA and Raluca Olaru, 62nd WTA at the doubles. Captain of the Romanian team is Alina Cercel Tec?or.
Canada will be represented by Eugenie Bouchard 7th WTA, Gabriela Dabrowski – 181st WTA, Sharon Fichman – 205th WTA and Francoise Abanda – 260th place.
Eugenie Bouchard changed her mind and will play for her country’s team against Romania.
“It’s something special for me that the Fed Cup matches take place in my hometown of Montreal. I hope everyone will come to see good tennis and support Canada’s team,” said Bouchard.
The match Canada – Romania will take place April 18-19, at the Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal.
