RomaniaActive, the representative voice of the health & fitness industry in Romania, in partnership with the National Sports Agency, announces the launch of the “Be Your Own Champion” campaign. This initiative aims to inspire Romanians to adopt a more active lifestyle and serves as an important educational platform promoting the benefits of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. The campaign is inspired by the strength and determination of Olympic athletes and at the same time announces the activities prepared for the European Week of Sport and #BEACTIVEDAY which will take place in September this year. European Week of Sport takes place during the week of 23-30 September and has already become a strong tradition promoting sport and physical activity across Europe.
“Be your own champion” is a unique initiative that aims to encourage the population to integrate regular physical activity into their daily lives. The campaign features a series of motivational videos from Olympic athletes, emphasizing that being a champion is primarily about making the healthy decision to stay active, not just competing at elite levels. This message emphasizes how important it is to start with small baby steps, be consistent and constantly strive to have a healthier lifestyle.
RomaniaActive, as a representative of the fitness industry, continues to encourage increased participation in physical activities and sports among Romanians.
“Our mission in the Be Your Own Champion campaign is to create a more active and health-conscious society. This campaign launched by RomaniaActive and the National Sports Agency is more than a campaign to promote physical exercise. We want to contribute to empowering Romanians, encouraging them to take control of their health and well-being. We aim to educate Romanians of all ages that health cannot be postponed and that physical exercise is one of the most important factors in preventing the most common chronic diseases in the world, those diseases that affect people, health systems and world economies. We are talking, first of all, about cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity. Through the partnership with the National Sports Agency, we aim to promote a culture that values physical activity, as a vital component of a healthy lifestyle”, said Kent Orrgren, President of RomaniaActive.
The National Sports Agency, a key partner in this initiative and the national coordinating body of the European Sports Week in Romania, plays an essential role in supporting and promoting sports activities throughout Romania. The collaboration with RomaniaActive on this campaign underlines the strong commitment of the Agency to improve public health through sport and physical activity.
“Sport is the foundation of a healthy and active life, and through the partnership in this project, we want to inspire every Romanian to discover the joy of movement and make physical activity a daily priority. This initiative is not only about promoting physical exercise, but also about cultivating a champion mentality, where each of us takes responsibility for our own health and well-being. We are already in the third edition in which the Agency coordinates the European Sports Week at the national level, it is already the second year in which we collaborate with RomaniaActive and we want to motivate as many Romanians as possible to do sports”, said Eliesabeta Lipă, the President National Sports Agency.
The “Be your own champion” campaign also serves as an educational platform that prepares the European Week of Sport and #BEACTIVEDAY, initiated by EuropeActive with which RomaniaActive has been collaborating for several years.
In preparation for the #BEACTIVEDAY event, which will take place on September 21 and will include the open day at the health & fitness clubs as well as thematic events, RomaniaActive launched an extensive information and promotion campaign to encourage broad participation throughout Romania: over 200 of fitness centers in Romania are expected to open their doors on September 21, offering free access to physical training for everyone, which encourages strong community involvement.
Educating the public about the benefits of physical activity—such as improving mental health, reducing the risk of chronic disease, and improving quality of life—is essential. The Be Your Own Champion campaign is already a crucial component in preparing the public for the European celebrations of sport and physical activity, which will take place this autumn.
