Romanian football coach, suspended six months and fined RON 100,000 for betting

Marius Şumudică, the coach of Romanian football club Astra Giurgiu (the current leader in Liga 1) has been suspended on Monday for six months by the Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF). The technician was found guilty in the present file: he had bet on several matches in the domestic championship, Digi Sport informs.
Sumudica is to pay a fine worth RON 100,000 (approx. EUR 22,000). The coach said he would appeal the sentence.
He has in hand several ways of appeal (the last one being an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports – CAS) and it is estimated that the final decision will come after the end of the national championship.
The suspension does not mean only that the coach will not be able to sit on the team bench, but refers to all aspects of the job of coach, including participation to training.
