Romania’s national rugby team defeated Spain 29-8 (12-3) on Saturday in Cluj-Napoca, in Europe Rugby Championship, Agerpres informs.
Despite the final result, the match was not an easy one, at least not until the 60th minute. It was an unexpectedly balanced match, but the Romanians (“Oaks”) took advantage of their strengths and value and numerical the superiority in the minutes during the second half to seal the victory.
Both teams have won the first stage of the competition (formerly European Nations Cup): Romania won away with 37-10 against Portugal, while Spain beat Russia at home by 43-20.
The record of direct meetings reveal that the ” Oaks’ ‘and’ ‘Los Leones’ met 32 times. Romania was victorious 30 times, Spain won twice.
Last year, Romania defeated 32-6 in Cluj-Napoca.
