Romanian tennis player Simona halep has climbed from fourth to second position in the WTA rankings released on Monday, following the Roland Garros final. Had she won the tournament in Paris, she would have climbed to the first position.
First ranks Angelique Kerber with 7.035 points and third is Karolina Pliskova, 160 points behind Halep.
Caroline Wosniaki has climbed to 7th position, whereas the Roland Garros winner, Jelena Ostapenko went up 35 positions to 12th.
Other women tennis players rank as follows: Monica Niculescu, up 4 places to 50th WTA, Sorana Cirstea up 5 positions to 59th WTA, Irina Begu down 18 places to 64th.
In the doubles, Monica Niculescu is 24th, Raluca Olaru is 43rd, Irina Begu is 70th, Simona Halep is 76th.
In the Race to Singapore, Simona Halep is first, followed by Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina and Jelena Ostapenko.
