Simona Halep has lost the match against Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova 2-6, 3-6 on Monday morning and she has been thus eliminated from the second round of Beijing tour.
“It has been tough today. I am not recovered yet after the first match, so it was difficult for me to play today and she (Ekaterina Alexandrova) played very well”, Halep told the press conference.
She revealed that the injury from Wuhan is getting worse and so, she has to return in Romania to have a break and get a MRI.
Halep is due to play in the Moscow tour (October 14-20) and the Champions Tour, October 27-November 3.
Last year in October, Simona Halep announced that the MRI she underwent had highlighted that she suffered from herniated disk.
She complained of back problems in the matches played in Wuhan and Beijing last year, and was forced to abandon the last tournament.
