Simona Halep falls to 5th place in WTA rankings

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has fallen to 5th place in WTA rankings, registering the third consecutive downfall this year.
Halep was eliminated from Qatar Open last week in the second round.
On the first places are Serena Williams – 9,245 points, Angelique Kerber – 5,700, Agnieszka Radwanska – 5,450 and Garbine Muguruza – 4,831.
Halep has 4,745 points.
Monica Niculescu is the second Romanian in the rankings on 34th place with 1,380 points, followed by Irina Begu – 36th with 1,345 points and Alexandra Dulgheru – 57th.
In the history of tennis, only two Romanian women tennis players reached the WTA top ten: Irina Sparlea – 7th in 1997 and Virginia Ruzici – 8th in 1979.
