Simona Halep, for the 38th week 1st WTA. Buzarnescu up to 25th position

Romanian tennis player, Simona Halep, tops the WTA rankings for the 38^th week, according to the latest release on Monday. Halep has 7,571 points, followed by Caroline Wozniacky – 6,740 points, Sloane Stephens – 5,463 points and Angelique Kerber – 5,305 points.

Mihaela Buzarnescu climbs on the 24^th position, up from 25^th, after playing the BRD Bucharest Open semi-finals. It is the best position of her career with 1,703 points.

Irina Begu has fallen 14 positions, down to 56^th, with 995 points.

Sorina Cirstea ranks 54^th with 1,035 points, up three positions against last week.

Two other tennis players are in Top 100 WTA, i.e. Monica Niculescu ranks 60^th with 927 points and Ana Bogdan ranks 87^th with 762 points, down 21 positions.
