Romanian tennis player Simona Halep qualified in the finals of Shenzhen Open on Friday, after defeating 6-2,6-3 the Chinese Saisai Zheng.
In the first set when it was 5-2 for Halep, Saisai Zheng needed medical assistance after complained of backache.
The third-ranked Romanian will meet in the final the winner of Petre Kvitova-Timea Bacsinszky game.
“I am very proud of my evolution this week, I had a good start. Today I didn’t play at my best, but part of the audience was by my side and I thank it for that. I hope I’ll have a good year and fans to be by my side. First, I have to think about tomorrow’s match, then I want to get to the Champions Tour again”, Halep said.
The Romanian tennis player will get USD 55,323 and 180 WTA points for entering the finals.
