Romanian athlete Mirela Lavric was found positive with Meldonium after the anti-doping test at the Indoor World Championship in the US and then banned from competing in the Olympic Games in Rio.
Lavric challenged the decision and has won, the final decision being received a few days ago, gsp.ro reports.
“The decision has arrived and it is important. However I regret very much I couldn’t compete in the Olympic Games. Now I have to see the bright side of the issue: I was declared innocent. I can’t change anything else. I could be angry for the way the issue was handled and many athletes have been affected. But I don’t have whom to fight with and I have to take things as such. I’ve already calmed down. I want to forget the tough period when I was shocked. Now I focus on my personal life and when I restart training, I will have fresh forces,” Lavric has told Dolce Sport TV.
Mirela Lavric is now pregnant, nevertheless the athlete intends to restart training and attending the competitions in order to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games in the 800 metres flat event.
