Romanian tennis player Mihaela Buzărnescu (30, 37th WTA, 7th seeded), was defeated on Saturday by Petra Kvitova (28, 10th WTA), 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, in the final of the Prague Open.
This was the second final of her career, after the one in Hobart earlier this year.
Buzarnescu also lost the doubles final in Prague on Friday when she and the Lidziya Mazorova (Belarus) were defeated by Nicole Melichar (US)/Kveta Peschke (Czech Republic) 6-4, 6-2.
Buzarnescu, 7th seeded in Prague, celebrated her 30 years birthday on Friday, lost in two hours and 17 minutes.
Buzărnescu will collect a cheque of USD 21,400 and 180 WTA points for the singles final, but also USD 3,200 and 180 WTA points for the doubles final.

In the quarter-finals, Buzarnescu defeated Kristyna Pliskova (26, 74th WTA) 6-2, 6-3.
In the last sixteen round, Buzarnescu defeated Antonia Lotter, 158th WTA, 6-0, 7-6.
The Prague tournament was played during April 30-May 6 and awarded prizes amounting to USD 250,000.
