Romanian pair made up by Irina Begu and Monica Niculescu has won on Sunday the doubles trophy of the tournament in Hua Hin, Thailand Open, with total prizes of USD 250,000, after defeating Ana Blinkova/Yafan Wang (Russia/China) 2-6, 6-1, 12-10.
The second seeded pair won the match in one hour and 27 minutes.
It is the second title won by the pair Begu-Niculescu, after the one in Hobart in 2012. They played together another three finals – in Luxembourg in 2012 and in Wuhan and Moscow in 2015.
The two Romanian tennis players will collect 250 WTA points in the doubles and USD 12,300.
Niculescu, 31, 69th WTA, has a total of 9 WTA titles won in the doubles and 16 finals lost, whereas Begu, 28, 37th WTA, has won 9 titles and has lost 7 finals.
