Tennis: Simona Halep, 42nd week on top of WTA rankings

Romanian tennis player, Simona Halep, has entered the 42^nd week on the top of WTA rankings, with 2,086 points ahead of the second position, Caroline Wozniacki, on the increase from 1,926 points after the final player by Halep in Cincinnati.

The winner in Cincinnati, Kiki Bertens, has climbed to the 13^th position, up from the 17^th.

Other Romanian women players: Mihaela Buzernescu – 20^th position with 2,068 points; Sorana Cirstea – 52^nd position with 1,065 points; Irina Begu – down to the 55^th position (from 58^th) with 978 points; Monica Niculescu climbs to the 61^st position (from 62^nd) and Ana Bogdan to the 74^th, up from 78^th, with 840 points.

Garbine Muguruza (Spain) is out of top 10 WTA to the 12^th position, with 3,500 points. Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) climbs to the 10^th position, whereas Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) climbs from the 6^th to the 5^th position. Caroline Garcia (France) is down one position, from 5^th to 6^th.
