Tennis: Simona Halep falls to 3rd position in WTA rankings

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has fallen to the third position in WTA rankings on Monday, 500 points behind Naomi Osaka and less than 100 points behind Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic).  Angelique Kerber (Germany) is on the 4th position, 142 points behind Halep. The next four positions are behind by less than 500 points.

Three Romanian women tennis players are in top 100, the other ones being Mihaela Buzarnescu on 32nd (down one position against the rankings two weeks ago) and Irina Camelia Begu on the 70th.

Sorana Cirstea is out of top 100, to the 103rd position, whereas Ana Bogdan is on the 107th.

Canadian of Romanian origin Bianca Andreescu, 18 years old, is up, after the victory in Indian Wells, to the 24th position.

In the WTA race for Shenzhen first is Petra Kvitova, followed by Naomi Osaka and Belinda Bencic. Simona Halep in on the 10th position.
