Tennis: Simona Halep hires Darren Cahill as new coach

After working together in bits and pieces lately, Simona Halep has officially singed-up with Darren Cahill as her new coach, according to UbiTennis. The duo is all set to kick-off their full-time camaraderie from the prestigious Wimbledon Championships that is scheduled to commence on June 29 at All England Club.
Cahill – who has formerly worked with a number of players including Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Murray, Ana Ivanovic, Fernando Verdasco, Daniela Hantuchova, Sorana Cirstea, and Andre Aggasi – frequently trained with Halep during the recently-concluded clay season.
This comes after the 23-year-old Halep parted ways with Victor Ionita, whom she had appointed 8 months back in November last year after splitting with Wim Fissette.

Manager Virginia Ruzici confirmed on Tuesday that for the Wimbledon tournament Simona Halep will have two coaches, Darren Cahil and Romanian Daniel Dobre.
Halep, currently ranked No. 3 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, is busy gearing up for Wimbledon by featuring in tune-up event at Birmingham, where she lost out in the quarter-finals to Kristina Mladenovic.
