After being eliminated in the first round at Australian Open, Romanian tennis player Simona Halep announced she would undergo surgery and will miss the next tournaments. However, several days later she changed her mind and vowed to play for Romania’s team in the Fed Cup against Czech Republic February 6-7.
After being seen by two doctors, Halep has announced she will also play in Dubai tournament during February 15-20, a competition she had won last year, TVR Cluj reports. The decision comes after she recently dropped from 2nd to 3rd in the WTA rankings, being overcome by Angelique Kerber, winner at Australian Open.
Thus, the septum operation is to wait for the time being.
