Romanian tennis player, Simona Halep, tops the WTA rankings in the last release from the association on Monday. She is on the top position for 46 weeks, placing her on the 11th position in the all-time standings. On the 10th position is Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) with 51 weeks at the top.
Halep has more than 2,000 points ahead of Caroline Wozniacki and more than 2,500 points ahead of Angelique Kerber.
Other Romanian tennis players: Irina Begu is down two positions, from the 53rd to the 55th; Mihaela Buzarnescu remains on the 23rd, Sorana Cirstea on the 52nd, Ana Bogdan on the 80th and Monica Niculescu on the 81st position.
In the doubles, Monica Niculescu is down one position, to the 50th, Irina Bara is also descending two positions to the 78th. Irina Begu remains on the 25th, Mihaela Buzarnescu on the 29th, Raluca Olaru on the 53rd and Sorana Cirstea on the 87th.
In the Race to Singapore rankings, Simona Halep is also on the first position, followed by Angelique Kerber and Petra Kvitova.
