Volleyball: Tomis Constanta has qualified to Champions League Top 12

CVM Tomis Constanta is the first Romanian men volleyball team to have qualified to Champions League Top 12. Tomis defeated on Wednesday evening the Swiss team Dragons Lugano 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 17-25, 25-20) and booked the first place in Group A, Agerpres informs. Tomis won all five matches in Group A and cannot lose the top place regardless of the last match’s result. Tomis will be the first team in our country in phase Top 12 of the most important inter-European competition since the introduction of the new format of the competition.

Romanian champions needed an hour and 44 minutes to win the match in Switzerland. Tomis has won the first two sets clear enough, but then relaxed and lost the third. In the fourth set Tomis managed a remarkable comeback and won with 25-20, winning the match.

Toms has won all 18 matches it played this season in the First Division, in the Champions League and in Romanian Cup.

The other match in the group: Volley Piacenza – Knack Roeselare 3-1.
