The national women handball team defeated Spain 22-20 on Monday, in the second game in main round I of the European Championship in Debrecen. This victory keeps Romania’s team racing for the semifinals.
Following Monday’s result, Romanian national team gets 3 points, but is also waiting for the other results in the Poland and Norway match and the one between Hungary and Denmark.
The last matches of main round I will take place on Wednesday and the games of the main round II will be on Tuesday and Thursday. The first two winners of both rounds will race in the semifinals on Friday. The finals are due on Sunday.
Romania national women handball team ranked 10th at the European Championship in 2012 and got the bronze medal at the 2010 edition.
