CSM Bucharest Director General, former athlete Gabriela Szabo, has announced on Thursday that Cristina Neagu will sign a new contract with the team.
Late last month, CSM announced that it wants a new contract with the best woman handball player in the world. Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea brought up the issue of Neagu’s monthly salary. Cristina Neagu is paid EUR 17,500 and her impresario requested EUR 20-21,000. The club replied that the hike is not possible and Neagu’s representative has agreed with the situation and so the new contract will be signed, prosport.ro reports.
“I am glad she wants to play for handball fans in Romania. I wish that those playing abroad would come to Romania. We are making efforts to bring them back home, to prepare them for Tokyo 2020 (summer Olympics – our note). We have Cristina’s principle agreement. We will provide the contract details in the coming days, maybe in a press conference. I can’t say if she has had offers from abroad, the impresario can say,” Gabriela Szabo said for ProSport.
