Women’s handball: Romania, defeated by Belarus 23-20 in the last match of the EC qualifiers

The national team of women’s handball was defeated by Belarus 23-20 (9-9) on Saturday in Piatra Neamt, in the last qualifying match in Group 1 for the European Championship in 2016.

The Romanian team is already qualified for the tournament in Sweden and has lined up an experimental formula, without its best players and without Swedish coach Tomas Ryde, who has left for his homeland due to family problems.

This was the last official match before Rio Olympics.

In the first leg Romania defeated Belarus 25-23.

Group 1 standings: Norway – 8 points, Romania – 8, Belarus – 6, Lithuania – 0. The last match of the group is to be played between Norway and Lithuania.
