World Championship, women’s handball: Romania, defeated by Norway, to play for bronze against Poland

Romanian women’s national handball team failed on Friday to qualify to the final of the World Championship, being defeated in the second semi-final of the day the Olympic champions Norway 35-33 after extra time (17-14, 27-27). Romania will meet Poland on Sunday for the bronze medal.
In the first semi-final on Friday, the Netherlands defeated Poland 30-25 (15-8), so Sunday from 15.45h Poland faces Romania for the bronze medal, and starting 18.15h the Netherlands play against Norway.
Romania’s objective at the World Championship in Denmark was to rank in the first eight places, an objective already fulfilled.
