The Romanian banks last year were among the most profitable institutions of this kind in Europe, taking into account the Return On Assets (ROA) indicator, which measures the profitability of the managed assets, representing the ratio between net profit and total assets.
By registering a profit of RON 2.4 billion, Banca Transilvania is on the first place among the most profitable banks in Romania, being supported by the inclusion of earnings after the acquisition of Volksbank Romania (RON 1.65 billion). The assets managed by Banca Transilvania increased by 32% in 2015, reaching RON 47 billion. Basically, BT made a profit of RON 5.1 to RON 100 managed assets, the equivalent of 5.1% ROA.
Banca Transilvania’s number of customers increased by 14% to 2.15 million. Earnings from fees in 2015 were worth RON 457 million, equivalent to a profit of RON 212 per customer.
The bank’s incomes from interests amounted to RON 1.3 billion last year.
Transilvania Bank’s market capitalization is of RON 8.35 billion (EUR 1.85 billion), a TLV share being quoted at RON 2.7550. From the beginning of the year, the bank’s shares have appreciated by 13.58%.
