In an unprecedented message posted on his blog, the AUR candidate in the presidential elections harshly attacks his opponents, who support Nicușor Dan, whom he accuses of racism, homophobia, and mocking his family, tells them that mathematically they have no way of winning the second round, and again criticizes the press.
“What worries me now is what we do from May 19 onwards with you. Which of you? Some of those who claim to be educated, civilized, Europeans, but prove exactly the opposite. I say some of you because, among the pictures taken with the sympathizers on board, I also took one with a colleague of the same generation (1987, also from Bucharest, he had done Vianu, I did Lazar) who votes for Nicușor Dan, but he knew how to shake my hand and, in addition to the picture, to dialogue, accepting that we represent two different ideological currents. Let’s take it in order… You are exactly what you accuse our voters/militant of being: subjective, with horse-rimmed glasses, racists, homophobes, etc. A respectable lady who lived a life off Soros funds (and even asked me if I didn’t want to obtain such sources of income) gave a statement in which she called us fascists and believes that three quarters of the aircraft they are on should be deprived of the right to vote because they represent the Diaspora,” said George Simion.
The AUR candidate also criticized two publications. “The double standard often upsets me. When HotNews becomes G4Media in terms of comparison to NewMedia, I feel like I’m running out of air: there are no more middle points, we’re left with no round tables where we can at least try to find consensus, and that’s what’s truly dangerous and can lead us to repeating the totalitarianisms between the two world wars.”
“The diaspora was good when it voted with Băsescu and Iohannis. When AUR voted massively in 2020, allowing us to enter Parliament, and now that we are obtaining absolute majorities, they are pejoratively called strawberries and badante, a chaff of society that they, the so-called Europeans, stink of,” accuses the AUR candidate. “This attitude of superiority, not based on reality, only shows the extent of the arrogance specific to the last tenant of Cotroceni. Romania is not on Reddit and does not need training on modern methods of contraception as a priority, but the elimination of social disparities and the effective eradication of poverty and social exclusion. Only in this way will we no longer have what we generically call underage mothers,” he adds.
Simion continues his criticism of Nicușor Dan’s supporters and accuses some of them of racism and homophobia. “I have received so many racist comments from people who claim to be educated that I literally feel nauseous, and I would not want to be a citizen with darker skin in my country for even a day. From garrote to cioricosan, to stinking gypsy, I have been called all kinds of things since May 5th. To avoid censorship, from Reddit to Tiktok, on all social networks, the warriors in the opposing bubble have started putting emoticons with… CIORI. This does not come from PLEAVĂ, as they call us, from PRECARIAT, but from university professors like Adrian Papahagi. It’s good though, it’s a life lesson: until now I didn’t think that Romania was a racist country.
And, often, uncivilized, irresponsible and homophobic. I congratulate my supporters present at the EuroNews debate, they knew how not to swear and not to shout at their opponent in the Polytechnic Hall. I would very much like the same thing to happen in the halls of the University and the ASE. One of Nicușor Dan’s supporters shouted at me WHAT IS THE DRIVER DOING? And then he insisted THE DRIVER! THE DRIVER! – remark, which referred to Diana Iovanovici’s inventions – Șoșoacă about an imaginary driver with whom she would have seen me in bed. If there was a more sensitive person in my place or who even had other sexual preferences, how would she have felt? Can a Roma or a gay person say this publicly in our society today when exactly that wing that claims to be PROGRESSIVE has such behavior?”
“You accepted the abusive annulment of the elections under the pretext of the lesser evil, when democracy itself was violated. You use everything in this campaign, including instrumentalizing a rape that I had nothing to do with, mocking a man destroyed by alcohol and transition (my father – for whom they invented words based on his condition), you attacked my wife, sister, aunt, you invented an uncle for me who does not exist. Even now, you lie about the events in London (I would not have been invited to the enthronement, I would have left the meeting with the Romanians angry, etc.).”
“Any action we take, white turns black in your rush to generate fear and lies. That’s what you made Nicușor do: he lied that I wanted to fire teachers, he lied that I depreciated the leu, he attacked capable and honest people around me like Sorin Constantinescu, Mugur Mihăescu or Petrișor Peiu just to make Matei Păun, Florin Talpeș and others forget. He has many things he refuses to answer, which is why people keep asking me why I should go to other debates with him,” writes George Simion, who then launches a new series of accusations towards his opponent’s camp.
“If we talk mathematically, as you claim to like (mathematics, not garlic, nor gossip), you have no chance of winning. I have clear evidence of how Iohannis explicitly asked Nicușor to be his successor in December. I have evidence of electoral financing fraud, including the way you buy influencers by the kilo. I have evidence of the bots and software you use. I don’t know yet whether to make them public now, because, aren’t they, they are reasons to cancel the elections. If the heads of institutions, at least their deputies, don’t come to our side and the information they provide us puts you in the area of CRIMINAL OFFICES. Mathematically, you want to win through fraud: extra votes invented in certain key points: Buzău municipality, the Republic of Moldova and others that we will announce or create flagrantly. I warn each person involved that they will be held accountable for each stolen vote, each ready ballot stamped into ballot boxes or bags, for each multiple vote. It’s life and death, we understand. We are always for life (and for peace). Without a total of 11 million votes (of which over a million were obtained through fraud) you lost.”
Simion mocks actor Victor Rebengiuc, a declared supporter of Nicușor Dan, and philosopher Mihai Șora, on whose Facebook account his wife continues to post. “After I saw the nonagenarian Rebengiuc, used in absolutely all of your campaigns, regurgitating the sign with AVOID THE ROAD TO THE EAST of the COUNTRY, I had read a joke that it was only a matter of time until Șora was raised from the dead. It took a maximum of an hour until the miracle happened and… he was resurrected! HE REALLY WAS RESURRECTED!”
Finally, George Simion sends a message to his opponents. “I have to, from May 19, be your president too. And that’s what worries me. Most of you are my colleagues of generation / education / aspirations. But I don’t know what I’m going to do with you, you seem bewildered, irrational and totally unwilling to accept that the world is not just the way you see it. There are also us, the rest of us, here. I hope you can help me solve the dilemma: not What am I doing here? not Who am I voting for? But What am I doing with you? Individually, not in a group.”
