The interim Director of Tarom, Ileana Daniela Dragne, has resigned from the air company’s helm Wednesday evening, claiming medical reasons, digi24.ro informs.
Dragne is the fourth Tarom Director General to resign this year, after Florin Susanu, Dan Iulius Plaveti and Eugen Davidoiu.
The company registers losses of more than 200 million RON, recently Transport Minister Felix Stroe said Tarom needs thorough restructuring.
The latest rectification of Tarom’s revenue and expenditure budget in early November shows losses of RON 206.8 million, compared to RON 41.2 million, as the company estimated the total losses in September. Therefore, the national air carrier is going to lay off 164 people by the end of the year. The company expects savings of about RON 1.07 million per month, respectively RON 12.85 million for the whole next year.
According to the rectification, in the debate on the Ministry of Transport website, Tarom’s total revenues will reach RON 1.15 billion this year, out of which the exploitation is estimated at RON 1.1 billion.
