Eurolines Group President, Dragos Anastasiu, announced that is in talks with TUI Germany officials (Eurolines Romania is TUI Travel PLC’s representative on domestic market) to reinsert Romania in TUI catalogs starting with 2018, mediafax.ro informs.
“We are present as destination on TUI website, but German tourists are accustomed to the printed catalogs,” Anastasiu pointed out.
On this occasion he said that 2016 was a good year for Romanian tourism.
“2016 enters history as the relaunch year of Romanian tourist destination, increasing both in number of visitors from abroad and the number of Romanians who traveled across the country. Also, our touristic product has improved, Danube Delta, Transylvania and Bucharest being the stars,” Anastasiu added.
Eurolines founder said that the problems in Tunisia, Egypt and Turkey make the tourists to refocus to a safe destination: Romania. In his opinion, we should take advantage of this favorable situation and to promote ourselves in a smart way through PR campaigns.
“It’s hard to position Romania as a tourist destination with a national budget for promotion of only EUR 2 million,” Dragos Anastasiu noted.
Globally, the tourism has increased by 4 percent in 2016, the online sales increasing by 23 percent worldwide and 18 percent in Europe.
