Maramures, Transylvania, Bucharest and Danube Delta get more famous on Travel Channel

Maramures, Transylvania, Danube Delta and Bucharest will go international on Travel Channel in a new series promoting the Romanian cuisine. “Food and Wine Adventures: Romania” will be released on May 23, starting 20:00 on Travel Channel.

The documentary series is presented by famous UK TV star Jenny Powell and Olvier Magny, a wine expert from Paris and comprises six 30-minute episodes, which are to be broadcast every Saturday, at 20:00.

The series was officially launched by the Scripps Networks Interactive, Travel Channel owner, in an event Tuesday night.

The first episode dedicated to Maramures, Baia Mare city and S?pân?a merry cemetery was also screened. The shootings took four weeks in Septeber-October last year.

The next episodes will tell the story of Brasov, Cluj, Constanta, Arad and Bucharest.

The show’s hosts are beginning an enchanting trip to discover the Romanian cuisine. Unlike “Wild Carpathia” documentary where Romania was promoted also through some personalities such as Prince Charles, Princess Margareta and former sportsman Ivan Patzaichin, the new serial won’t focus on famous people, but on ordinary persons and on hidden, exquisite places and things.

So, the documentary is presenting small producers still working after traditional methods, with the comperes visiting fairs, vineyards and farms and eating in some of the best restaurants in the country. The entire experience is scattered from the northern country in Maramures, goes down in Transylvania to finally descending to the Black Sea coast.
