Romania kicks off tourism promotion campaign in Russia

The Federation of Travel Promotion Associations of Romania (FAPT), the Seacoast – Danube Delta Association (ALDD), together with representatives of the Tracia Chamber of Commerce and Industry are promoting Romanian travel destinations in Moscow under a joint project called ‘Discover Romania.’ The promotion campaign is due January 24 through 30.

To start with, the ‘Discover Romania’ joint pilot project will provide free info trips to the Black Sea Coast, the Danube Delta as well as other Romanian destinations to Russian tour operators, while joint promotion and marketing events, presentation and promotion conferences of Romania and Romanian destinations to be held in Russia.

“In 2015, around 6 million Russian tourists spent their holidays in Turkey and Egypt, where they spent EUR 1,000 per package on the average and EUR 1,000 more per person on the destination spot. Romania is an alternative for Russian tourists, given the current market context. Romania has a huge tourist potential that Russian tour operators and tourists are interested in and our mission here is to capitalise on this potential. This is the reason why we are starting this pilot project that will comprise the promotion of several holiday packages in Romania: health, business, leisure tourism, hunting and fishing tourism, as well as combined Black Sea Coast — Danube Delta packages, Romanian Black Sea Coast holidays and mountain tourism,’  FAPT Chairwoman Corina Martin said.
