Touristic summer season in Romania to kick off two weeks earlier this year

The touristic estival season will be opened two weeks earlier in Romania this year, which represents a first. The season on the seaside resorts and Danube Delta will be on as of April 15, so, two weeks earlier than usual.

The Seaside Danube Delta Association will announced the programme of the events to all travel agencies in Romania, to Romania’s embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, to the Tourism Ministry’s tourism bureaus and to mass media as of next week.

Major events are scheduled in Mamaia, Vama Veche and other seaside resorts, as well in the Danube Delta and other locations in Constanta and Tulcea counties.

“As a first this year, we are opening the summer season on April 15 when we celebrate the Easter on the sea shore and we continue with the FedCup, a tennis female competition between Romania and UK to be organized in partnership with the Romanian Tennis Federation during April 17-23. Again as a first, starting this year we’ll organize an official opening of the summer season in the Danube Delta,” said the head of the Seaside Danube Delta Association, Corina Martin.

The mini-holiday of May 1 will start as of April 27 when the 20th edition of the Sunwaves electronic music festival will kick off in Mamaia, with over 7,000 foreign tourists expected and thousands of attendees from Romania.

“The season is opened in Vama Veche as well as of April 29. A show of drift cars and a beach concert are scheduled in Mamaia on April 30,” Corin Martin added.
