Romania-based Softronic will deliver six more locomotives to Green Cargo, Sweden’s largest actor in rail freight, foreing media informs.
This comes after the local rail manufacturer announced in July 2017 that will send two Transmontana locomotives to Green Cargo that are going to be delivered this summer.
The six Transmontana locomotives could be delivered in autumn next year, as mynewsdesk.com shows.
According to Jan Kilström, CEO Green Cargo, the new locomotives offer increased capacity and security, as well as lower transport costs for company customers. The locomotive also has several technical adaptations for the Nordic climate and less impact on the environment because it uses less energy.
Softronic began in October last year the production of the first two Transmontana locomotives for the Swedish company Green Cargo, a contract of about EUR 6 million.
The most advanced electric locomotive built in eastern Europe, Transmontana is certified by both the Romanian Railway Authority and the Hungarian Railway Authority. The locomotive can reach speeds of over 200 km/h and is equipped with a new metallic structure, asynchronouse traction motors, regenerative breaking, IGBT electric converters, LED lights and electronic command and control equipment.
