The average net wages in May were of RON 2,704, down by RON 9 against the previous month, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs on Monday. The highest wages were in the IT&C sector (RON 6,437 met wage), the lowest in the hotels and restaurants sector (RON 1,554).
In May 2018, the level of the average net wage in the economic sector registered decreases and increases against the previous month. The decreases were influenced by the bonuses granted in April (quarterly bonuses, annual bonuses, the 13th wage, bonuses for achievements, bonuses for Easter celebrations), bonuses in kind, shares of net profit and other funds. The decreases were caused also by lower collection of cash and by the hiring of staff with lower wages in some economic sectors, the same source reads.
