“Banat” film selected for Venice’s Settimana Internazionale della Critica

“Banat/Il Viaggio” feature film directed by Adriano Valerio that tells the story of an emigration from Italy to Romania, was selected in the official competition of Settimana Internazionale della Critica section within the International Film Festival in Venice which is due September 2-12.

The movie is a coproduction between Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Macedonia starring Edoardo Gabbriellini, Elena Radonicich, Piera Degli Esposti and Stefan Velniciuc, while the Romanian co producer is Ada Solomon by Parada film company.

The film tells the story of a reverse emigration from Italy to Romania, not the other way as we were used to. More precisely, two Italian youngsters in crisis decide to leave Italy for Romania in search for happiness and for a job.

Shootings have begun early this year, with some scenes shot in Romania at Voinesti and on the Black Sea coast.

Adriano Valerio and Ezio Abbate are signing the script, while the scenography for the parts shot in Romania is made y the team run by Adrian Cristea.
