The Bulgarian company Pam Consult Consortium presents an innovative concept and quite cheap at the spring edition of the tIMOn real estate trade fair, at the exhibition halls of Constitutiei Square in Bucharest.
It is about social housing built of container, which will comprise 100 apartments with 2 rooms and will be spread over five floors, zf.ro informs. These container apartments re-use shipping containers, covering 27 sqm each. The cost for such an apartment reaches EUR 12,000. The whole block, which will have also an elevator, will cover 3,200 sqm and is valued at EUR 1.2 million. The construction can accommodate about 350 people.
While the average consumption in Romania is 180 kWh / sqm / year, the whole flats assembly developed by Pam Consult Consortium will be within a consumption of about 80 kWh / sqm / year. The difference is strongly felt in residents’ energy costs.
Among its many benefits, the social housing built of container includes durability, fire resistance and low maintenance costs. An important advantage of the container houses is also the fact that they are maintaining the ecological balance of the planet.
The container houses have embedded several systems designed to save as much energy as green roofs and rainwater harvesting systems.
