7 young Romanians on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe List 2023

The American Forbes magazine also included 7 Romanians on the European list of successful young people in certain fields, Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2023.

The eighth European edition of the Forbes list includes 300 young founders, leaders and entrepreneurs from 10 fields such as entertainment, media & marketing, science, retail/ecommerce, social impact, art and culture, technology or sports and games.

Technology

Ruxandra Pui, Cofounder, Digitail, a Romanian startup that closed an $11 million Series A round in January after attracting investors with its booking and management platform for veterinarians and pet owners. Pui’s business, launched in 2018, now plans to expand further in the U.S. after claiming to have signed up over 700 vet clinics and 1.4 million pet profiles on the platform.

Media&Marketing

Andrei Popoviciu is an independent journalist, audio producer and photographer covering human rights, migration, international development and foreign affairs. His reporting has been featured in The Guardian, Al Jazeera English, Libération, VICE World News and Middle East Eye, among others. He has also produced long-form narrative audio stories for Are We Europe, The Europeans and Kerning Cultures podcasts. The Romanian-born journalist is currently based in Dakar, Senegal, investigating human rights, labor and data privacy violations.

Science and Healthcare

Cristiana Banila cofounded Mitra Bio, which aims to use epigenetic biomarkers to track skin aging – a technique it says could replace biopsies or animal models. The company says these biomarkers could also lead to new rejuvenation compounds that work on human skin while targeting root causes of aging. Mitra Bio has raised $1.5 million from investors including Illumina Accelerator and Oxford Foundry.

 

Science and Healthcare

David Gorgan is CEO of Berlin-based Nostos Genomics, which has developed AI decision-support software to help labs and hospitals interpret the rey hours down to a few minutes,” giving scientists more time to focus on the toughest cases. Nostos has raised $5.3 million from venture firms.

 

Retail&E-commerce

Adelina Cornelia Zotta, next to her partner Connor Westby, has co-founded ecommerce pet store NutriPaw sells natural pet supplements and health supplies that aim to help dogs’ anxiety, stress, hips and joints, digestion, energy, skin and coat, dental and overall health. London-based NutriPaw, founded by Connor Westby and Adelina Cornelia Zotta, generated $6.7 million last year with more than 125,000 customers.

Manufacturing&Industry

Andrei Chirtoaca, Sara Lopez are cofounders of Yuman, which is developing autonomous mobile robots that assist nurses as their own transport buddies by automating the transport of small equipment in hospital wards that nurses need when caring for their patients. Since founding the company in 2022, the team has built three robots currently being tested in two Danish hospitals.

Finance

Cristian Dan, Cofounder, Yayzy, an eco-fintech that has raised over $1.5 million and expanded to 30 countries. The company helps banks enable climate action by tracking and offsetting their customers’ CO2 impact. Yayzy has partnered with IBM and has supported user connection to 2500+ banks. They plan to raise another $4 million to become the leading climate action solutions provider for financial institutions.
