Steven Armstrong, Vice President and CEO Ford of Europe, received the visit of Prime Minister Grindeanu at US carmaker plant in Craiova, on which occasion he announced that 976 new employees will help manufacturing EcoSport mini-SUV model.
“We are proud of our team here and the progress achieved by our plant lately. We are very glad to receive in our plant 976 new employees with a view to preparing the manufacture of the EcoSport model to be launched this autumn. I had the opportunity to have a discussion with the Prime Minister, before the visit, which was very productive and we are very satisfied with the support we received from the Romanian Government and local authorities. We are looking forward to having a successful launch and to further growing our businesses and our presence here,” Armstrong stated.
Thus, the number of the employees at the Craiova factory will reach to 2,715, assembly and engine production combined. The selection of the new employees started in April and will run until the end of July, and in August the new personnel will start an in-company training program. EcoSport mini-SUV will be launched this autumn.
